Sometimes you need extra attention on your listings. Boosts help get it seen fast. For example, imagine you have a litter that’s ready to go in a couple of weeks, but enquiries have slowed down. By using a daily re-pin boost, your listing jumps back to the top of search results every morning, quickly attracting new buyers and helping you find homes for your puppies sooner.
Boosts are separate from your package. In simple terms, packages affect how your listing looks, while boosts affect how visible it is. Your package controls the photos buyers see, whether they can watch a video, and the level of insight into who’s viewing your listing. Boosts decide where your listing appears in search results, how far up the page you are, whether you show up above other listings, and whether buyers see your puppies before they have even started a breed search.
Boosts are available to every breeder on puppies.co.uk, regardless of whether you’re on Free, Growth, or Pro.
“My listing is live. Why isn’t it getting enquiries?”
Timing and visibility are the two biggest factors in how quickly a listing generates enquiries, and they’re not always in your control.
Most platforms list new postings first. As more breeders list, older ones move down. If many post your breed on the same day, yours may land on page two.
This isn’t about your puppies or your standards - it’s simply how search works. Boosts let you improve your listing’s visibility when needed.
What boosts actually do
There are four boost types, grouped into two categories: instant boosts and duration boosts. You can use any combination of them, and each runs independently, so buying a daily re-pin doesn’t interfere with a featured boost, and vice versa.

Instant re-pin boost
This is the most immediate boost available. The moment you purchase it, your listing jumps to the top of the search results, no waiting until morning, no delay. It also adds an orange border to your listing card, making it visually distinct from the surrounding results.
The instant re-pin has no set duration; it just repositions your listing right then. You can use it multiple times and stack it with any other boost. If you know a peak browsing time, use it then.
Daily re-pin boost
Where the instant re-pin is a one-off push, the daily re-pin is a sustained presence. It moves your listing back to the top of search results every morning for as long as the boost runs. You choose the duration when you purchase: 3, 7, 14, or 30 days.
It works across all search results. On Growth or Pro packages, daily re-pins occur twice daily (morning and evening) for the duration of the boost.
This is a practical choice if you’ve got a litter with a known ready-to-leave date and you want consistent enquiry flow in the weeks leading up to it.
Featured boost
The featured boost places your listing above all organic search results, in a dedicated featured section at the top of the page. When a buyer searches for your breed, your listing is the first they see before any sorting or filtering can move it.
That last point matters. Buyers often sort results by price, distance, or most recent. Organic listings move around as they do. Featured listings don’t. Buyers can’t filter your listing away, regardless of how they’ve set up their search.
You can run a featured boost for 3, 7, or 14 days. If you’re also running a daily re-pin, your listing will appear at the top of the featured section too - re-pins continue to apply within the featured placement.
Homepage boost
The homepage boost is different in nature to the others. Rather than changing where your listing ranks within search results, it places your listing on the puppies.co.uk homepage before buyers have searched for anything at all.
Buyers who are still deciding on a breed or browsing before they’ve committed to a specific search will see your puppies first. It’s a way to reach people earlier in the decision-making process, when they’re still open to being surprised by a breed or litter they hadn’t specifically planned to look for.
Homepage boosts run for 3 or 7 days.
How to decide which boost (if any) makes sense
Boosts make sense when you want more control over timing, placement, or reach than a standard listing provides.
Some situations where breeders find them useful:
If you’re breeding a rare or less commonly searched-for breed, boosts can help you get your listing in front of buyers who may not have specifically searched for your breed. A featured boost or homepage boost increases visibility for breeds that might otherwise be overlooked in search results. This can connect with prospective owners who are open to different breeds or who haven’t yet decided what they’re looking for.
You’ve had a listing live for a week or two, and enquiries have slowed - a daily re-pin brings you back to the top without having to do anything to the listing itself.
You have a clear, ready-to-leave date and want to build a queue of serious buyers in the two weeks leading up to it.
You’re listing a breed with a lot of competition on the platform and want consistent prominence rather than relying on recency alone.
You want to reach buyers who are still deciding on a breed, not just those who’ve already searched for yours.
None of the boosts requires a minimum spend, and none of them affects your package or billing cycle. They’re charged separately, as one-off payments, when you choose them. You can preview all boost prices before purchase, either during the listing creation flow or by viewing the boost options in your account dashboard. This lets you see exactly how much each boost will cost and helps you plan your budget with no surprises.
A note on timing
If you’re on a Growth or Pro package, your plan already includes free re-pin days (3 days for Growth, 7 days for Pro). These start automatically when your listing goes live.
If you’d like to time a boost for a specific window, for example, holding off until the week your puppies are ready to leave, you can purchase additional boost days from your account dashboard at any point during your listing. The free re-pin days don’t need to be “saved”; they run from the date of publication, and a paid boost layer on top when you choose to add them.
Where to add a boost
Boosts are available at two points: during the listing creation flow, after you’ve selected your package, and from your account dashboard once a listing is live. The process is the same either way: you select what you want, review the cost, and confirm. Boosts take effect immediately on purchase.
If you’re creating a new listing and you’d prefer to launch without any boosts, you can skip that step entirely and return to it later. Your listing will be published without any boost applied, and you can add one at any time from your dashboard.
FAQs
Do I need a paid package to use boosts?
No. All four boosts are available to every breeder, including those on the Free package. Boosts and packages are independent products.
Can I run more than one boost at the same time?
Yes. All four boost types can run simultaneously on the same listing, and each runs its own independent timer. An instant re-pin, a daily re-pin boost, and a featured boost can all be active at once.
Does the boost apply to all my listings?
No. Boosts, like packages, are applied per listing. If you have more than one active listing, you can boost each independently or leave some without a boost entirely.
What happens to a boost if I unpublish my listing?
If you unpublish or pause a listing, any active boost will pause as well. They don’t continue to run or expire while the listing is off. If you decide to pause rather than cancel your account after your litter is sold, your boost history is retained for your next litter.
When does the daily re-pin actually run?
The daily re-pin runs every morning. If you’re on the Growth or Pro package and you’ve also purchased additional daily re-pin days, your listing will be re-pinned twice a day (morning and evening) for the duration of the paid boost.
For the best results, try timing an instant or daily re-pin boost for Friday evenings or weekends, when buyer activity is typically highest. This can help your listing get seen by more potential owners at peak browsing times.
