You put everything into your litter. Your listing should show it.
Responsible breeders know the effort that goes into raising a litter well. The vet visits. The health tests. The hours spent socialising puppies so they’re confident and curious when they leave. The nights spent sleeping on the sofa. The careful conversations with potential owners to make sure the match is right.
And yet, when it comes to advertising online, all of that can disappear into a single cover photo and a few lines of text, which can easily be overlooked by buyers scrolling past dozens of other listings.
That’s something we’ve been thinking hard about at puppies.co.uk. We’ve spoken at length with breeders across the UK, from licensed breeders to experienced family breeders, and first-time breeders alike, and one thing came through clearly: breeders don’t just want more enquiries. They want the right enquiries, from buyers who can genuinely see the quality behind their litter.
That’s why we’re introducing Listing Packages, a new way to control how your listing looks, how buyers find it, and how much of your story comes through.
“Will anyone even see my advert?”
It’s the question every breeder asks when listing on a new platform. And it’s a completely reasonable one. Before you invest your time (let alone money), you want to know that real buyers are actively seeking.
We hear you. Our packages show live platform statistics, updated in real time and these figures come straight from our platform, not estimates, so you can see exactly what audience your listing reaches before you decide anything.
Listing on puppies.co.uk is, and always will be, completely free. No card required, no hidden fees. Packages are entirely optional - they’re about how your listing presents itself to buyers, not about whether it appears at all.
Is the free listing really free? Will I be charged later?
Yes, genuinely free. The Free package requires no card details and has no trial period that rolls into a charge. You can list your litter, receive enquiries, and find homes for your puppies without ever paying anything. Paid packages (Growth and Pro) are entirely optional and are only charged if you actively choose and confirm one. You will never be automatically moved onto a paid plan.
What the packages actually do
We’ve designed three tiers to fit different types of breeders and different stages of a litter’s journey.
Free gives you everything you need to get listed:
A cover photo on your listing card.
A 60-day listing duration.
Access to all the features included with every listing (more below).
It’s the right starting point if you want to try the platform before committing further.
Growth (£24.99) is designed for breeders who want to stand out in search results. Buyers can swipe through your photos directly on the listing card without clicking through, so more of your litter is visible at a glance. Growth also includes basic listing insights so you can see how your listing is performing, plus a free 3-day daily re-pin boost to keep your listing near the top of results. Listing duration is unlimited for as long as the package is active.
Pro (£32.99) goes further, adding video playback directly in search results so buyers can watch your puppies before they even visit your listing. It also includes priority placement on buyers’ favourite listings, advanced insights, and a free 7-day daily re-pin boost. For breeders who want to show the full picture of how they’ve raised their puppies, Pro gives you the tools to do it.
Both paid packages renew every four weeks and can be cancelled at any time, including between litters, when you may not need a live listing but want to keep your account and history intact.
Does this package apply to my other listings?
Packages are applied per listing, not per account. If you have more than one active litter listed, each listing has its own package. This means you can, for example, run a Pro package on a litter you want maximum visibility for and keep another listing on Free while enquiries still come in naturally.
Can I change my package after my listing is live?
Yes, at any time from your account dashboard under Packages & Billing. Upgrades take effect immediately, so if you want to add video or photo swiping mid-listing, you don’t need to wait. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle, so you won’t lose features you’ve already paid for.
What’s included with every listing (free or paid)
Before we go further, it’s worth being clear about what every breeder gets, regardless of which package they choose.
Every listing on puppies.co.uk includes:
An ID-verified badge confirming your identity to buyers (following ID verification).
Breed alert matching so your listing is automatically surfaced to buyers who’ve set alerts for your breed.
In-platform messaging for a secure and on-platform way to communicate with potential buyers.
Dam and sire information section because buyers increasingly want to see the parents, and responsible breeders want to show them.
Secure deposits via Trustap. An escrow-protected deposit system that protects both you and the buyer, reducing the risk of time-wasters and no-shows.
A breeder profile. Your very own dedicated profile page where buyers can learn more about you.
Individual puppy profiles so buyers can see and follow specific puppies in a litter.
Licensed breeder badge displayed prominently on your listing if you hold a council licence.
These aren’t optional add-ons. They’re the foundation we think every responsible breeder deserves.
“How do I know buyers will trust my listing?”
Trust is the single biggest concern we hear from breeders - and buyers. Prospective puppy owners approach online platforms with real caution. They worry about scams. They want to know breeders are vetted. They look for evidence that a platform takes welfare seriously.
That’s exactly why features like the ID verified badge, the licensed breeder badge, and the secure deposit system aren’t locked behind a paid package. They’re available to every breeder because they matter - to you, to buyers, and to the reputation of responsible breeding as a whole.
Packages build on top of that foundation. When a buyer sees your photos swiping in search results, or watches a short video of your litter before clicking through, it isn’t just eye-catching; it’s reassuring. It signals that there’s a real, confident, transparent breeder behind the listing. That kind of visibility does more than attract clicks. It attracts the right kind of buyer.
Can I add or update photos after my listing is published?
Yes. You can add, remove, and reorder photos at any time from your account area; you don’t need to go back through the listing creation flow. We encourage you to update photos as your puppies grow; buyers respond well to seeing puppies at different stages, and keeping your listing fresh also helps with visibility.
“I don’t want to pay for something that might not work”
That’s a sensible instinct, and one we’ve designed around.
The Free package isn’t a watered-down placeholder; it’s a complete, functional listing. We’d always encourage breeders new to puppies.co.uk to start there, get a feel for the platform, and only consider upgrading once they can see how it works for them.
If enquiries are coming in and you want to do more - add video, get more visibility, see detailed insights - that’s when a paid package starts to make clear sense. And if you upgrade and later decide to cancel, your listing doesn’t disappear. It simply reverts to Free tier presentation, and your account history, profile, and data are all retained.
We’ve also tried to be honest about what each package is for. They improve how your listing looks to buyers. They don’t determine whether your listing exists. That distinction matters to us, and we think it should matter to you too.
What is the daily re-pin boost included with Growth and Pro?
The daily re-pin boost moves your listing back to the top of relevant search results once a day. Without it, listings naturally move down the results page as newer adverts are added. The re-pin keeps your listing competitive without you having to do anything manually. Growth includes 3 days of re-pin on activation; Pro includes 7 days. You can purchase additional paid boosts separately at any time.
When does the free re-pin start?
Re-pin days begin on the date your listing goes live after review. They run consecutively from that point. If you’d like to time your boost for maximum impact, for example, to coincide with when your puppies are ready to leave, then you can purchase additional boost days from your account dashboard at any point during your listing.
A platform that works for breeders who care
We’re under no illusions about the online puppy market. Breeders who do things properly are often competing for attention against listings that cut corners. That’s frustrating, and we’re actively working to address it through our verification processes and platform standards.
