information about mum, dad and environment (mum and dad in profile picture)

important thing to consider: although it’s registered catagory is English Bulldog (even on my personal insurance for my dog and bitch) this is just the catagory as they are actually Standard Bullys which is a legal breed and some may get them confused or worry about the XL law. please be assured they are alot smaller and are a breed among them selves well known as a breed to be great family members.

Novice/hobby first time breeder of standard bullys (i have raised puppies and fostered rejected runts or orphans over the years both dog and cats so i am familiar with puppies and the needs) i have also had cats come to me and have litters so i am not completely new to the process of birthing and caring for mum and litters but this is my first personal pup litter.

mum is intelligent and loving nature and loves the children in our home. dad is also great with children, intelligent and a little more playful. the 10 pups have been brought in to the world around 4 children and are very used to noise and eager to learn. my poor girl is having a fur issue right now so we have followed advice to up her calcium intake a little more and hopefully my poor girl will be back to her normal self and put a bit more weight back on as she seems to of lost quite a bit as the formula we were advised to give her went streight through her system.

Otherwise both mum and dad are healthy though it is worth knowing typical of bully breeds have a hard time digesting certain food such as most dry buiscuts (Lidil has a great one and butchers is also a good safe food) both are not ok with pedigree chum or webbox, however seem fine with all other brands.

they prefer wet food. i like to give them meat in an afternoon just because they enjoy it and a nice full tummy until breakfast and buiscuits at breakfast. they always enjoy an egg on biscuits once a week (not mum right now as i don’t want to give it her whilest lactating nor when pregnant).

if you have any questions please let me know. i hope to find owners as dedicated as i am and encourage anyone to reach out for any information or a viewing (please do not be alarmed by my girl i assure you we are navigating through whatever is happening with her,) my personal perspective is that because she is younger than i wanted her to be to have a litter as i wanted her to be over 3 (she is in her 2nd year) is that 10 puppies is quite alot for her and taking more nutrients from her than she is ready for amd taking q toll. this is just my personal opinion and not a professional opinion.

i will admit that my boy was just on a mission no gates could hold back. that said i beleive all should have a litter before they get there opertunity taken if its ok for the bitch to do so and although earlier than planned she was going to potentially have a litter as I was looking into it and supposed to be more prepared.

the whole event has been a blessing to experience though and i am greatful all is well with pups and aside the issues with mum shes happy and thriving as a mama and loves her puppies, wanting to be involved in everything! even at inconvenient times such as when im cleaning the bedding or surrounding area she is right in there digging and sitting right in the way or checking old bedding that i have not got pups by accident and looks like she is counting pups. she knows if any are missing and will let you know (one went for a wander in plain site, in the room and the fact he wasn’t where she wanted him to be was enough for her to sound the alam)

play and learning:

something else to consider with the breed is its intelligent nature and as all breeds if they get bored will get up to mischief, bully pups will take that to new levels.

They are in need of stimulating activities such as set up activities as well as the usual play and walk. (all activities are when pup is old enough obviously) this dosent need to be an over the top or expensive activity but rather one that gets them problem solving or exploring.

we get mats or balls from pets at home like this one

where they look for the treats in various ways and textures or we get tubes (kitchen roll tubes for hygiene purposes) and cut them into several pieces and put dogs peanut butter inside and they can chase the rolling tube and eventually figure out how to get it open.

because this breed are incredibly intelligent they will be able to train and learn quickly but they will remember anything they learn so make sure you remain in the alpha and they will be an amazing addition to your family especially since they like to play an active roll and be part of everything you do.
